How Long Does Hair & Makeup Take on Wedding Day?

Your wedding morning sets the tone for your entire day — and having a smooth, stress-free hair and makeup schedule is key! Here’s everything you need to know to plan the perfect “getting ready” experience with us.

Plan for 5–6 Hours

On average, our hair and makeup timeline runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. However, this can vary depending on a few factors, like the size of your bridal party, your ceremony time, your venue’s access hours, and the number of artists booked.

Customized Timeline Just for You

To make things even easier, our timeline manager will create a customized timeline for your day. You’ll know exactly how much time is needed to complete each booked service.

Here’s a quick look at how we build your timeline:

15 minutes for setup and touch-ups

40 minutes for each hair service

45 minutes for each makeup service

1 hour for the bride’s hair or makeup service (per service)

This detailed breakdown ensures you have plenty of time and aren’t rushed — so you can relax and enjoy every moment!

Choosing Your Getting Ready Location

Most photographers recommend having hair and makeup completed 2–3 hours before your ceremony. This gives them time to capture your getting ready moments, detail shots, and any first looks you may have planned.

If your venue’s standard access hours don’t provide enough time, you have options! You can:

• Add extra hours to your venue rental (if available)

• Get ready at a secondary location like a hotel, Airbnb, or even a personal home

• Book additional artists to speed up the services

Need to Save Time? Add Extra Artists

If you’re tight on time or have a larger bridal party, you can add additional artists to your booking. Each extra artist comes with a five-service minimum — but it can significantly shorten your getting ready window and ease the morning flow.
