The truth about wearing your hair down on your wedding day

It’s gorgeous, it’s bridal - but having your hair down is a high maintenance style. Here’s what most brides don’t realize:

Extensions are almost always needed

Around 80% of brides need extensions for fullness and curls that actually last. Extensions don’t just add volume, they also help your artist create a look that truly matches your inspo.

You’ll need to touchup

Even with the best products, humidity, sweat + movement mean touch-ups are almost guaranteed. A wide-tooth comb is the easiest tool to refresh, reset + keep hair tangle-free.

Your hair may require a trim

For volume, bounce + movement, layers are a MUST. Heavy, one-length hair falls flat fast - opt for long layers to keep curls bouncy. A trim + deep conditioning treatment help ends hold and stay frizz-free.

Soft + touchable hair won’t last

Your inspo may show soft, bouncy hair - but for a style to last 10+ hours, it does need product. It won’t be something you can touch and run your fingers through (and we’ll encourage you not to!)

When to consider skipping an all-down style...

If you like to touch your hair a lot, it tangles easily, your curls tend to fall, or you’re getting married in humid weather, an all-down style might not be the best choice.

It’s not a one-size fits all

We’ll help you choose the version of “down” that matches your vibe, works for your hair, and keeps you feeling confident all night!
